iCurious
Couldn't help noticing how iPods are much more popular in the US (where even women the age of my mum seem to like them) than in Canada (Montreal). Wondering if its just a matter of Americans having a stronger inclination for music and newer technology or if the "i" factor (individualism, isolation from outside world) makes a difference in this case.
Upcoming Niagara Falls Visit
Planning a road trip to Niagara Falls (Canadian side) from Boston with husband and three teen age sons for end of August. Which hotels and restaurants have the best views of the Falls? Is there going to be enough to do without everyone getting bored? How much time there is enough? Where are the best pools? Tours? Live music performances or other shows? Best restaurants without going terribly broke? Is there much walking involved? What should be definitely avoid wasting money on? etc., etc., etc. Thanks.
Form my own good
Just finished filling in the forms to request the Canadian visa for a trip to Quebec on spring. Gee, they ask so many useless questions, like the full date of birth of each and every person you plan to visit. Well, is that visit, like, to stay with as a guest, or just having a cup of tea at someone's place also count? Nay, you wouldn't know, because the forms are totally dumb and the official websites that should answer to that kind of question simply don't. And don't even dream of ringing the embassy!
Around the flagpole
My work permit in Canada expired on December 1, so I needed to renew it. It's possible to renew these things by mail, which is worrisome and time-consuming, or even to go into an office in Montreal (near-mythical, crowded, reportedly ineffective).
