Mid-Autumn Children's Festival, Vietnam
Mid-Autumn Children's Festival or Tet Trung Thu is a wonderful time to visit Vietnam. The festivities last for several days and there is singing and shouting. Children wear masks, parade happily in the streets and bang their drums. Parents buy lanterns and toys for their children and prepare their favorite dishes. Special cakes are made and exchanged, and fruits are plentiful.

Halong bay, Vietnam_ Amazing!!!
We got to the harbor just after lunch and after the usual stop en route at a souvenir factory.
We had our own boat (junk). My room was nice. We were a while in the harbor but set off as we were having lunch.

Indochina Sails 3
A expedition with Indochina Sails (1 June, 2008)
We got off the bus and were greeted by a guide with Indochina sails. We were taken inside a building to wait for our boat to be ready. We were given cold towels at the door, you know your entering luxury when you get a towel to freshen up. We waited for about a half hour, while our luggage was taken to the ship. We then were put on a small boat or the "tender" and taken to the ship. As we were drawing close to the ship, one staff member on the boat was playing a drum, it was a bit odd, feeling like your in a Kin
It's A Beautiful Life in Halong Bay
Halong Bay is easily one of the most beautiful places in the world. We spent much of our day standing on one side of the boat with our camera’s out taking about 500 photos each, with every picture looking amazing. Our awesome wooden boat took us through the islands of Halong Bay, which we decided resembled Pirates of the Caribbean, Vietnamese style. We totally expected to see Jack Sparrow pop up and commandeer our ship, not that we would have minded of course!
Cruisin' Halong Bay and climbing Cat Ba Island
We pulled into Hanoi at 4.30am! With our eyes just open we made it back to Elizabeth Hotel to catch up on some emails before setting off to Halong Bay. Back on the bus again for three hours we stopped and grabbed some fantastic egg, bacon and cheese bagettes (or it could have been we were starving) before getting back in the bus. We had another wait at Halong City before boarding our boat in bright blue sky and brilliant sunshine!
Halong Bay - CatBa Island Tour
Mountain Climbing, tunnel crawing kayaking on Halong, Vietnam
I’m writing this waiting to get the night train to Hue. We just came back from Halong Bay which was an overnight on a boat on the bay. It is a world heritage site and so beautiful. It was misty and a bit rainy but apparently that makes it more atmospheric although I’d say they just tell you that to shut people up moaning. It was a long trip in a mini bus to the bay and of course as usual with organised tours we had to stop at a souvenir shop for twenty minutes more like forty. When we got to the bay our boat was nice and the crew were lovely.
Impression of Indochina Sails on Halong bay, Vietnam
A BAT let out a startled screech as we paddled our kayak into a moonlit limestone cave in Halong Bay. I'm not sure who was more surprised – me or him – but it served to remind me that humans are the minority here.

Vietnam Journey
Vietnam is a country charmer, not only for its natural wealth but also for his people. People smile constantly, whether in the chaos of Hanoi, the purity of the mountains of Sapa, "the dragon" of Halong Bay or the richness of the Mekong Delta. So far, the Vietnamese people are more attentive and more grateful to the tourists that we have seen on our trip.

We were joining in an interesting journey to one the new natural wonders. In this 3 day 2 night trip, we were gonna visit Surprise Cave, swim at Ti Top beach, visit fishing villages but the most interesting part must be Squid fishing and Ngoc Vung Island.

Vietnamese food taken at the Halong Bay
This is we called, a green full of dish, because as you can see, the dish is full of Chinese mustard, stir fried, no meat. Good for health (if less oil). We had this at the Perfume Pagoda.
Vietnamese food taken at the Halong Bay
This is very much like Thai dish, stir fried vegetable with pork. Vegetables are bean sprouts, cabbage, spring onions, Chinese mustard. We had this dish at the Perfume Pagoda, around 2- hours drive from the Old Quarter, plus 1- hour boatride to the this Chinese cave temple.

And this dish, very good. It is spring roll- like. A roll is stuffed with transparent noodle, meat and vegetables, then rolled with (if I was right) a slim flour plate. Then, deep fried.

Another dish of Hanoi, served in the cruise to Halong Bay, Hanoi. The dish is a kind of fish sausage, cut into pieces and deep fried. We had it with cucumber.
Shopping for purses and other Hanoi local items
“I found a purse that matches my favorite so I didn't hesitate to buy it. Of course, it wasn't much costly.”
Women are very meticulous especially when it comes to their personal things. Most of them can't leave their homes without carrying some sort of a bag for collecting their things. I am a woman, so Iam that kind too. Talking about a bag, I got a purse (handbag) form Hanoi's Old Quarter shopping street. It was made of clothe. There is a broidery work on it. I got a shining green one. Also baught one for my colleague.
