Doña Casilda Iturrizsr Park
A public park located in the Basque –Spanish city of Bilbao, it is named after Casilda Iturrizar who donated the terrain. The main park of the town regarded as the best of all green spaces in the cities surveyed.
The park has a long history of almost 100 years now. It was designed in Romantic style by the architect Ricardo Bastida and the engineer Juan de Eguiraun. From the date it was built, it has been renewed, preserving the charm coming from its wonderful pond and its typical biscuit seller, a indelible scenery in the mind of every Bilbao dweller. Early this year, the park infrastructure has been improved and extended to include a classical merry-go round, two basketball pitches, a dancing water fountains, a stage of live performance and fine arts Museum café.
This main park in one of the tourist attraction of the place not just because of the beauty of the place but the effort of the people in Bilbao in preserving the 100 year old park. Tourist activity in this place is really active whole year because of the neighboring parks and tourist spots in Bilbao. The advantage of this place is almost nice spots are just in walking distance.
