National Dishes of Spain

It is difficult to say that there is a national dish of Spain since the country has its own regional specialties. Historically, Spain was divided into small kingdoms; each one with own language, culture and cuisine. More often, if you visit  restaurantes España you can’t determine specifically the national dishes. However, there are few dishes that have gained popularity all over Spain and internationally:

  • Toritilla  Española
  • Gazpacho de Marisco – Spanish seafood Rice
  • Jamon Serrano – Spanish Ham
  • Chorizo Sausage – Spanish pork Sausage

Tapas is one of the top dishes in Spain, there are huge variety of them. Each town have it own specialty tapa, although some tapas dishes are eaten nationwide like olives, ham and chorizo.
