Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang in north east China. Best known for the extravagant yet ephemeral sculptures of the Snow and Ice Festival every January, Harbin also has Russian architecture, hearty food, and rowdy nightlife, and makes a great summer destination too. (more...)

Bangkok airport blockade over

The protesters that laid siege to Bangkok's two main airports disbanded on Wednesday (3 December), and the first plane arrived in the capital at 2:15AM. Airport officials remain confident that normal operations will resume within 24 to 48 hours. (more...)
