The Idea - See it all.

Ever since I was in high school, I wanted to "back pack" through Europe. While hanging out with a buddy, I came up with the idea again, but in a different manner. First off, I'll have to get everything that has me tied down gone. After that, I want to get a camcorder, a tent, and a nice backpack to carry some supplies, and about 1500 or saved up.

Then just start walking.Yep. Walk!

Now, that isn't it, haha. I'll hitch hike - or do whatever it takes to get where I want. Where do I want to go? Everywhere. What do I want to see? Everything. Now, I've already been told this is a dumb idea - because I'll get raped and murdered, or not even picked up. I'm fairly confident I will get picked up eventually, and I won't get penetrated - by knife or by a penis. How long do I want to do this? As long as it takes to discover America! Go to New York and California! Florida and Oregon! And everywhere in between. Seeing what I want, when I want.

How will I pay for it? Well, I'll have like 1500 or so saved up - and whenever I leave work - I'll still get 2 paychecks through the month. What happens when I run out of that? Well, I'll get stuck wherever I'm at - and just work for money till I get to where I want to go next.

Neat idea, eh? I definitely want to do this - I don't care about impractability.

Now, I've got my idea down - what I want from you is; what sights should I see? I've got a few down, like

  • Hoover Dam
  • Statue of Liberty
  • Golden Gate Bridge
  • Crater Lake
  • Mt Rushmore
  • Grand Canyon
  • Niagara Falls
  • Washington DC -- lots of museums and capitol hill.

So, fellas - any ideas where I should go and what I should see? I'm up for anything - historical, architectural, enviromental, anything and everything! Museums, neat people! Meeting up with people and sharing experiences, anything! I'm wanting to get a huge list - then sort by state, then travel all throughout that state seeing all that I can; then hitch hiking to the next one and start all over!

Thanks for all the help, The WanderingIdiot
