Anna Maria Island Bridge Closing starts some Major Fun!! When the Anna Maria Island Bridge on SR 64 closes September 29, Anna Maria Island merchants will keep busy hosting a series of family-friendly events to entertain visitors during weekends through November 13. The bridge will be closed for rehabilitation and visitors will be re-routed to the Cortez Road West bridge for access to the island. A Trolley Scavenger Hunt tops the list and will be held Saturday, October 11, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. For more information on the scavenger hunt, please contact Caryn Hodge, 941.778.8705.
