Hi,

We have just launched a big travel guide writing contest in conjunction with the Frankfurt Book Fair (the world's largest). The winning titles will be showcased on the fair, and the main prize is a personal trip to the fair, so that you can meet up with publishers from all over the world, pitch story ideas, and maybe even sign a contract on the spot. The fair is visited by over 300,000 visitors and 10,000 journalists - a great opportunity to network!

The contest deadline is September 24 (yes, that is near - the fair is in October!). There is no page limit and you are also welcome to submit new and existing works, as long as they fit into the (broad) categories of travel, lifestyle and entertainment guides. You keep all copyrights, and participation is free.

More info is here: http://www.guidegecko.com/writing-contest

Happy writing, looking forward to your submissions!

Daniel
